Why should I give to the TMS Foundation?
If you watched the video above from Ed Herderick, then you already know about the Foundation’s mission and vision. The TMS Foundation is helping to build the future of materials science and engineering, and that can only be done together. By giving to the Foundation, you are becoming a vital part of the society and a role model for other young professionals.
How can I get involved and give back to my professional community?
It’s easy! You can make a donation using the mobile-friendly online Contribution Form. Alternatively, you can send a check, payable to the TMS Foundation, to TMS headquarters at:

How will my gift help to advance the minerals, metals, and materials professions?
Every donation matters! The TMS Foundation provides awards, scholarships, and leadership development programs for promising students and emerging leaders early in their careers. The TMS Foundation also support TMS’s diversity and inclusion and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiatives. By donating to the TMS Foundation, you are making an impact on the next generation of leaders and innovators in a changing science and engineering landscape.

Will I be included on the Annual Giving Honor Roll?
Yes! With a $40 donation, you will also be recognized as a Foundation Patron in the Annual Giving Honor Roll for the year that you make your donation. Individuals on the Honor Roll are recognized on the Foundation website, in JOM, and at the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition—and 40/40 Club members will have the club logo placed next to their names.
How will my gift be used?
The TMS Foundation supports everything mentioned above—scholarships, awards, travel grants, leadership development programs—and more. Unless directed to a specific scholarship or award fund, donations support the Foundation’s General Fund, which applies your gift to the programs with the greatest need.
My technical interests align with one of TMS’s five Technical Division. Can I direct my donation to a specific division scholarship fund?
Absolutely! When you visit the online Contribution Form, click on the link at the top of the page to direct your gift to a particular fund other than the TMS General Fund. Then, select which specific TMS scholarship fund you would like to support and click the “Select Contribution Option” button. You will be redirected to an online form for the corresponding scholarship fund.
Will my employer match my donation?
Many employers participate in matching gift programs. Whether you have already made a donation or are considering donating today, check with your organization’s human resources department about the availability of such program. Why should I make an annual contribution to the TMS Foundation?
Your support and influence are needed every year. The awards, scholarships, and programs supported by the TMS Foundation are all distributed annually. Therefore, additional funds are needed each year so that these important programs can continue.
Are there other ways for me to support the TMS Foundation?
If you shop on Amazon.com, then AmazonSmile is an easy way for you to make a donation every time you shop with no additional spending on your part. By making purchases through AmazonSmile, 0.5 percent of the price of eligible Amazon products that you buy will be donated to the TMS Foundation.

Please note: As a new initiative, individuals who make a donation of $40 or more after the launch of the 40/40 Club in July 2017 will be recognized as members in promotional materials. While their generosity is greatly appreciated, those who have made donations in the past will not be included as members of the 40/40 Club.
