Jonathan Madison was a Principal R&D Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories (NM) where he worked for over a decade contributing to Sandia's mission to provide exceptional service in the national interest.

Madison earned his B.S. from Clark Atlanta University in Engineering Science with a concentration in Mechanical in 2003 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2007 and 2010, respectively.

Madison's research focused on solidification in metals as well as experimental and computational techniques for quantitative study of microstructure in 3D. Experimental techniques centered on mechanical serial-sectioning and x-ray tomography while simulations focused largely upon kinetic Monte Carlo approaches. His work provided multi-scale characterization and models to enable materials-based insights and solutions across a variety of alloys and multi-material components.
