JOM: The Magazine

News and features on TMS, its members, and the professions it serves

Inside the November 2021 Magazine

In the November issue, The Magazine looks back at 2020 in two annual reports, detailing how both the Society and the TMS Foundation persevered through unprecedented times through various events, activities, and initiatives. TMS Foundation Board of Trustees Chair Garry Warren also shares how the Foundation is expanding its support for students and early career professionals and how a gift to the Foundation can help secure the future of the materials science and engineering professions. Then, JOM: The Magazine continues the celebration of the TMS and AIME 150-year anniversary with two articles on the histories of TMS’s Materials Processing & Manufacturing Division and Structural Materials Division. And finally, an interview with Brian Thomas of the Brimacombe Prize Awards Committee shares the legacy of the award and its namesake, 1993 TMS President J. Keith Brimacombe.
