This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Journal of Electronic Materials (JEM) and increase the visibility of the journal.
Anyone, including the editor or associate editors, may nominate a paper. Selection is made by the TMS Functional Materials Division Award Committee.
The lead author will receive a registration waiver to attend the TMS Annual Meeting to accept their award.
Recipients of this award may be eligible for the AIME Champion H. Mathewson Award and AIME Rossiter Raymond Memorial Award.

Papers published in JEM from July through June are eligible for nomination. Nominated papers should be based on the publication date, not the issue or online date.
How to Nominate
October 15 of each year.
Please submit the following documents to complete the nomination process:
- Completed nomination form.
- Nominator's Supporting Statement: This statement is to be included within the principal nominator’s cover letter of endorsement. The supporting statement should outline the qualifications of the nominee for the specific honor/award. The nominator’s supporting letter should be no more than two pages.
- Photocopy or PDF of the nominated paper.
- Nominator’s letter of endorsement.
