Transitioning to Online Instruction: Tips, Tools and Techniques
April 9, 2020 • 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

In recent weeks, most academic institutions have required faculty to shift their courses to exclusively online instruction. While some institutions have experimented with online instruction in the past, the sudden transition to 100% virtual environments has caught many by surprise and poses significant challenges. This webinar aims to address some of the key challenges and will provide insights from faculty who have worked in a range of virtual environments. Topics will include: (i) tradeoffs of asynchronous vs. synchronous instruction methods, (ii) ways to hold virtual office hours and promote engagement, (iii) proctoring quizzes and exams in the virtual environment, and (iv) suggested tools and platforms that facilitate online instruction. Tips and resources captured from the webinar will be assembled and shared with registrants shortly after the event.
