Scope: Advanced materials are in high demand for extreme environments, i.e., high temperature, excess wear, high radiation, and high stress. This topic focuses on the latest development of alloys and ceramics containing significant amounts of refractory elements, and their extreme environment performances. Areas of interest include alloy design, advanced processing, structure-property relationships, and environmental degradation. Computational and experimental works focusing on the role of refractory elements are highly encouraged.
