Publication Date: April 2017
Keywords: Advanced Materials, Characterization, Lightweight Materials, Physical Properties
Scope: The design, characterization, and processing of porous structures are critical to numerous materials used in applications such as filtration, insulation, bio-carrier, and absorption. This topic will present the latest research achievements in porous ceramics, metal foams, plastic foams, cellular concretes, and/or porous minerals with broad application potential (e.g. water, oil filtration, bio compatible materials, catalytic carriers, insulation at high temperature, etc.). Emphasis will be on the design, processing, characterization, modification, and property control of the porous microstructure, as well as the relationships of material performance and microstructure.
