MEDIA CONTEST

"MOVPE – The Good, the Bad and the Ugly… And the Future," is the theme of a light-hearted contest for conference attendees aimed at reflecting on the world of MOVPE where experimentation and the material outcomes can be good, sometimes bad and often downright ugly. [MORE DETAILS]

  • ICMOVPE Welcome Reception
    Date and Time: Sunday, May 23, 7 to 9 p.m.
    Reconnect with colleagues or network with new alliances during this kickoff event.

  • Panel Discussion
    Date and Time: Tuesday, May 25, TBD
    A Panel Discussion session is being planned for Tuesday, May 25. The discussion topic will be "The Role of III-Vs in SSL and Terrestrial PV". Those interested in participating should contact Robert M. Biefeld at rmbiefe@sandia.gov.

  • Refreshment Breaks
    Date and Time: Daily during the morning/afternoon intermissions
    Hot and cold beverages will be offered to all meeting attendees in the exhibition hall.

  • Exhibitors Reception
    Date and Time: Monday, May 24, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Lake Tahoe CruiseFEATURED SOCIAL EVENT: Tahoe Queen Lake Cruise
Date and Time: Wednesday, May 26 ~ 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Cost: $70 per person
You will experience a memorable experience on the illustrious Tahoe Queen. This famous paddle wheeler was built on the Mississippi River in 1983, then trucked to Lake Tahoe and reassembled. This magnificent boat is 144 feet long and 33 feet wide and features three decks. On this 2.5 hour cruise you will be able to relax, take in the beautiful views, and mingle while enjoying a beer or glass of wine and nibbling on some light appetizers. Comfortable shoes and casual attire with a light jacket is recommended. Includes a hosted open bar offering beer, wine, bottled water, soft drinks, coffee, and tea. A light appetizer will be provided. Registration deadline is May 25.

Virginia City was once one of the most prominent cities in the western United States, a place where you can still find fortune and glory today. Gold and silver buried in the mountain at one time attracted people from the world over. Follow in the footsteps of the "Bonanza Kings," the mine owners who played an important role in shaping America’s economy. Discover the place where Mark Twain took his pen-name and began his writing career. Virginia City is a one-of-a-kind destination where you can get your hands on the Wild West on this walking tour. If all the old time shops and saloons are not enough there are museum tours, mine tours, stagecoach rides available to purchase. Comfortable walking shoes, casual attire and a light jacket is recommended.
