Recognizing Excellence in Minerals, Metals, and Materials

The 2014 TMS-AIME Awards Ceremony and Banquet will be an elegant event, designed to honor the significant professional achievements of members of the minerals, metals, and materials community. The ceremony includes presentations of awards from both TMS and the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), of which TMS is a member society.

The evening will consist of three parts. First, award winners and their guests will be welcomed at a cocktail reception. Following the reception, participants will be seated for the awards ceremony, where individual winners will be honored for their accomplishments. A professional photographer will be on hand to capture these moments. Following the ceremony, those participants who have purchased banquet tickets will proceed outside (weather permitting) to the West Terrace for a nautical-themed dinner and a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay. Dinner guests will be treated to live entertainment from Scottish fiddle legend Alasdair Fraser and cello ace Natalie Haas. (Click here to view a performance by Fraser and Haas.)

How to Attend

All TMS Annual Meeting attendees are welcome to come to the ceremony portion of the evening to support friends and colleagues receiving awards and to join in honoring the award recipients’ accomplishments.

To attend the dinner portion of the evening, however, you must purchase tickets in advance through the TMS2014 registration form. Tickets are $95 per person and include admission to the cocktail reception, awards presentations, and three-course dinner with wine and dessert. All venues are fully accessible for handicapped guests.
