The TMS Ambassador Program offers established TMS members the opportunity to grow their network of TMS connections by offering complimentary electronic memberships to colleagues who have never been a part of the Society. You can invite young professionals who may not know what a professional society can offer them, people who are new to your organization, colleagues working in a related field—anyone you think could benefit from TMS membership.
Why Become an Ambassador?
- Grow Your Community: When you invite new members to join TMS, you help to grow the network of minerals, metals, and materials scientists and engineers for all TMS members.
- Help Your Organization: You can share membership with individuals who are new to your company or institution, helping them to grow professionally at no cost to your organization.
- Receive a Bonus: Recruit five new members and you’ll receive a free year of TMS membership as a thank you.
Time Commitment and Responsibilities
The job of an ambassador is to identify colleagues who might benefit from TMS membership and to compose and send personalized e-mail invitations, telling them why you find TMS valuable and why they might, too. You may also be required to answer any follow-up questions those individuals may have about the Society. Time commitment varies, depending on the number of new members you recruit.
Qualifications
Ambassadors must be current TMS members and should have a general knowledge of the organization and its offerings.
