Scope: This special topic solicits high-quality papers with a focus on the latest achievements in characterization of microstructural evolution during powder processing using single or combined methods involving classification, blending, thermal treatment, compaction, etc. Of particular interest is characterization of microstructures of agglomerates formed by powders due to various mechanisms, e.g., electrostatic forces between very small (nanoscale) particles, the formation of bridges between particles upon spraying of an additional liquid or binder, or by thermal effects including sintering and roasting.

To ensure sufficient time for peer review, papers will not be accepted after the posted manuscript submission deadline. Original research papers should be 3,000-9,000 words with up to 12 figures maximum; review papers should be 6,000-11,000 words with up to 20 figures maximum.
