Scope: This special topic will consider articles and reviews involving nanostructured biomaterials. The use of materials with dimensions or components between 1 nanometer and 100 nanometers for health science applications is a major focus of materials research. These materials provide unique capabilities for interactions with biological structures. Moreover, nanostructured biomaterials may enable miniaturization of medial devices and a decrease in the cost of medical devices.

To ensure sufficient time for peer review, papers will not be accepted after the posted manuscript submission deadline. Original research papers should be 3,000-9,000 words with up to 12 figures maximum; review papers should be 6,000-11,000 words with up to 20 figures maximum.
