Scope: Biodegradable metals based on Mg, Zn, Fe, Mo, and W alloys are used in medical applications due to their mechanical and corrosion properties. Experimental modelling has been ongoing for almost two decades, but computational modelling is becoming prevalent in materials design and testing. Predictive models enable in silico testing, reducing experimental costs and time. This special topic welcomes submissions in both computational and experimental modeling that complement, expand, and potentially accelerate the development of biodegradable metals.
