Scope: Nanomaterials-based functional structures/devices have shown great promise in various application fields, including electronics, composites, energy, biomedical, among others. The large-scale integration of these structures/devices into everyday life will require full-cycle development covering a number of aspects along the development chain. This special topic aims to explore the state-of-the-art technologies that address at least one facet of nanomaterials-based functional devices, including but not limited to the following categories: scalable and sustainable synthesis, characterization technologies, novel property discoveries, assembly techniques, manufacturing technologies, novel applications of certain nanostructures, etc.

Original research papers should be 3,000-9,000 words with up to 12 figures maximum; review papers should be 6,000-11,000 words with up to 20 figures maximum.
