JOM: The Magazine

News and features on TMS, its members, and the professions it serves

Inside the September 2020 Magazine

This month features an article compilation developed by the TMS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee that shares data, insights, and best practices surrounding issues on diversity, inclusion, and civility in STEM. In five articles, committee members discuss topics such as harassing behaviors in the workplace, global partnerships at the collegiate level, closing the gender gap in commercialization, and engaging underrepresented minorities in the K–12 pipeline. The September issue also reports on Impact Factors and related metrics for TMS journals, including the debut numbers for Integrating Materials and Manufacturing Innovation and Journal of Sustainable Metallurgy. And don’t miss Alexander Martin’s recap of his year working on Capitol Hill as the 2019–2020 TMS/MRS Congressional Science and Engineering Fellow.
