Inside the March 2021 Magazine
This month, JOM helps to kick off the TMS and American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME) 150th Anniversary Celebration, which is also debuting at the TMS 2021 Virtual Annual Meeting & Exhibition (TMS2021 Virtual), happening this month. “Celebrating Our Common Legacy: 150 Years of AIME and TMS” is just the first article in a series to be published over the next year that explores different aspects of our shared history. Also in this issue, take a closer look at the 50-year history of the seminal TMS proceedings publication Light Metals. Tom Battle, 2020 TMS President, revisits the unique challenges and opportunities the Society encountered in 2020 as his term as president comes to a close at the conclusion of TMS2021 Virtual. And don’t miss the profile of Donald R. Sadoway, TMS Fellow and namesake of the TMS Sadoway Materials Innovation and Advocacy Award, that offers a look at his distinguished career and the new award.
