Publication Date: November 2025
Keywords: Characterization, Electrometallurgy, Energy, Experimental Methods, Thin Films and Interfaces, Solid-State; Aqueous; Semi-Solid; Gaseous; Electrolyte; Electrode; Modeling and Simulation
Scope: Energy storage and conversion play a vital role in decarbonization and energy transition, yet interfacial challenges hinder performance and safety, across multiple length and time scales. In this special topic, we invite contributions that delve into both experimental and computational explorations aimed at tackling these challenges. We seek insights into electrolyte design, electrode architecture, system enhancements, and beyond. Topics of interest include mechano-thermo-electrochemical coupling, microstructure–property–performance interplay, modeling, and characterization techniques.
